Managing Director | Senior Consultant
Marc Willuhn is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive and consultant with more than 25 years of experience leading R&D and technical functions in global organisations. He has held senior leadership roles with teams across multiple continents, overseeing budgets and capital investments supporting product portfolios with annual sales of several billion euros. Throughout his career, he has led drug-development programmes from preclinical research through registration, contributing to multiple successful product launches in global markets.
His CMC expertise spans a broad range of modalities, including small molecules, peptides, biologics, and cell and gene therapies. He combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational experience in development planning, manufacturing, clinical supply, regulatory support, and organisational management. Marc holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research and an MBA.
In 2018 Marc founded Willuhn Consulting to work closely with biotech companies and academic spin-outs, combining operational leadership and deep technical expertise with a passion for helping bring new therapies to patients. He also mentors pre-seed and early-stage teams as they navigate the challenges of building a company and advancing their science.
An enthusiastic and pragmatic leader, Marc is known for quickly understanding complex information, connecting the dots, and turning insight into action. He is a trusted adviser and effective communicator who works comfortably across international environments and brings diverse teams together around shared goals. Having lived and worked in several countries, Marc brings a genuinely global perspective to his work. He speaks several languages and continues to enjoy learning new ones.
