For Founders

building the company
on your science

“Great science is necessary, but never sufficient. It’s the people who turn discoveries into medicines.”

-Bruce Booth, Atlas Venture

Academic founders bring years of focused research, deep expertise, and discoveries with the potential to transform how diseases are treated. The science may be rigorous and compelling—but turning it into a viable company requires more than a breakthrough.

We translate promising discoveries into credible, fundable biotech ventures. This includes access to a broad network of experienced experts and introductions to the right partners when needed. We build the business case by assessing the market, sizing the opportunity, mapping competitors, and developing a Target Product Profile (TPP) that defines a clear value proposition for patients, healthcare providers, and payers.

We prepare founders for investors by structuring data and narratives for pitch decks and due diligence, and by communicating opportunities and risks clearly and without hype. Our practical insight into pharmaceutical and biotech operations helps turn promising science into an investable development strategy.

For founders

What does a Target Product Profile (TPP) look like?

A Target Product Profile (TPP) is a concise, forward-looking document that describes the desired characteristics of a medicine at the time of approval. It typically covers the intended indication and patient population, dosing regimen, route of administration, efficacy and safety objectives, quality attributes, and key differentiators versus existing or emerging therapies.

The TPP acts as a strategic reference point throughout development, helping teams make informed decisions, align investors and partners, and support constructive discussions with regulators. It should remain flexible and evolve as scientific, clinical, commercial, and regulatory knowledge develops.

Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC) strategy should be built in from day one—not added as an afterthought. We develop pragmatic, modality-specific roadmaps for lean start-ups, defining what must be addressed now, what can wait, where to invest, and how technical choices affect timelines, cost, and risk.

Through hands-on, fractional CMC leadership, we become an integrated part of the founding team—without the cost of a full-time hire. We develop strategies, plan clinical supply, engage CDMOs, and prepare clear updates for boards and investors.

Above all, we focus on de-risking rather than optimism alone: providing honest, evidence-based assessments of what may be difficult, costly, or time-consuming, together with practical plans to mitigate those risks. We are the partner that helps turn promising science into an executable biotech programme.
